Hatchery

In 2011, we at Fedora Sea Foods commenced operations of our state-of-the-art hatcheries. We have a total production capacity of 400 million shrimp seedlings per annum. With our commitment to deliver disease resistant seedlings, we meticulously nurture the shrimp seedlings from the larval to post-larval stages at our facilities by following uncompromising standards of biosafety procedures.

We at Fedora Sea Foods take pride in the operation of our cutting-edge hatcheries, which stand as the genesis of our aquaculture initiatives. Within these facilities, we embark on a journey of meticulous care and precision, tending to shrimp seedlings from their earliest stages of life.

Our main aim is to provide our farmers with the highest quality of post-larval seedlings that grow optimally and remain disease resistant in the farms. To ensure this, our Hatcheries are safeguarded by stringent biosecurity measures. We import only Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) broodstock with the best genetics to ensure that the shrimp seedlings are robust and disease resistant. Each and every batch of post larvae is expertly monitored with diligent attention and care by our experienced and well informed senior technicians.

To further safeguard our facility from cross contamination or breaches in biosecurity, testing of all parameters that ensure the health and quality of the seedlings is done on a regular basis with the help of our inhouse lab. We ensure that the water used for production, be it seawater or freshwater, goes through multiple filtration and purification processes. This is done with the help of our up to date equipment and assures the elimination of contamination from an external water source.

Every aspect, from water quality to temperature control, is finely tuned to create an environment conducive to optimal growth and development. We ensure responsible sourcing of polychaetes for the broodstock and the feeds for larval and post-larval stages of the seedlings.

The foundation for our sustainable aquaculture practices is laid in the hatchery, ensuring the health and vitality of the species for generations to come.
